WELCOME to the Nareena Hills Parents and Citizens' Association Webpage
Meetings are held at 7.00pm on Wednesday Week 3 and Week 7 of each term in the staff room.
The Nareena Hills Parents and Citizens (P&C) association is committed to a free public education system which is inclusive of all, irrespective of culture, gender, academic ability and socio-economic status. Parents as partners in the education process, have a right and a responsibility to play an active role in the education of their children.
The Nareena Hills P&C plays a vital role in the school through its commitment to:
- facilitating cooperation between the students, teachers and community
- encouraging parent participation in curriculum and other education issues
- sharing information to benefit the school community
- providing funds for improved school facilities, equipment and resources
- advocating for local educational improvements
- promoting public education
Meetings
At our meetings, parents receive information about the school and its activities from the principal, teaching staff, members of the P&C and external organisations. The P&C is also active in providing representatives to regional committees, in partnership with the Department of Education and Communities
Fund Raising
The P&C Fundraising Sub-Committee is dedicated to raising finances, through a variety of activities, to enhance school facilities, equipment and resources. In recent times activities such as gala evenings, movie nights, and family photo days have enabled the P&C to fund such items as Interactive Whiteboards, reading resources, and a wheelchair ramp for the school.
The Nareena Hills P&C is a friendly group of parents who enjoy working for the benefit of the school. The involvement of parents at P&C meetings, through its activities or in other ways in the life of the school is always welcome.
