We are excited to welcome our new Kindergarten families to the Nareena Hills Public School community! Our Orientation sessions and weekly Playgroup are a wonderful opportunity for children to meet teachers, make new friends, explore the school environment and begin their journey into school with confidence.

Early Stage 1 Symbio Excursion

Date: Friday 28 August

Kindergarten students are invited to attend an exciting educational excursion to Symbio Wildlife Park. This excursion is designed to support students' learning in Science and Geography by providing opportunities to investigate living things, explore their habitats and observe how animals interact with their environments.

📚 Book Parade 2026 – Symphony of Stories 🎶

Date: Monday 31 August

Get ready to celebrate the magic of books at our 2026 Book Parade, held on Monday 31 August at 9.10am in the School Hall!

This year’s Book Week theme, “Symphony of Stories,” invites students to bring stories to life through creative costumes inspired by books, music and imagination.

Students might dress as a favorite musical character, author, composer, instrument, conductor, magical character, book character associated with music, or even be part of an orchestra or choir!

🎭 Let your imagination take centre stage – we can’t wait to see the wonderful and creative costumes you bring to life!

Book Week Performance

Date: Monday 31st August

As part of our Book Week 2026 celebrations, students in Kindergarten to Year 4 will enjoy a special incursion performance titled Something Special.

This engaging performance will bring stories to life through drama, imagination, and interactive storytelling, inspiring a love of reading and celebrating this year's Book Week festivities. We look forward to providing our students with this memorable literary experience.

📚 Book Fair – Reading Is Out of This World! 🌎

Date: Tuesday 1 September – Friday 11 September
Times: 8.40–9.00am and 3.00–3.30pm
Where: School Library

During Library lessons, students will create a Book Wish List to take home and share with their families.

Want to purchase a book from your child’s wish list? Simply place your order online using the information provided on the wish list order form, then send your payment receipt to the school.

Stage 2 Illawarra Education Centre

Date: Wednesday 16 September

Students from 3/4K and 3/4M will be participating in an excursion to the Illawarra Environmental Education Centre at Killalea Regional Park,  Shell Cove NSW.

Stage 3 Berry Sport & Rec Camp 🏕️

Date: Monday 21 September - Wednesday 23 September

Our Stage 3 students are looking forward to an exciting Sport & Recreation Camp in Berry! Students will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of outdoor activities, build teamwork and friendships, develop new skills and create lasting memories with their classmates.

We can’t wait for an action-packed camp filled with fun, adventure and plenty of great memories! 🌿🏃‍♀️🏕️
